In today’s episode of Momming Smart Show, we had the pleasure of speaking with Sydney Crowe, a certified financial fitness coach who empowers moms at all stages of their life to create a life they love by loving themselves first.
During our conversation, Sydney shared her experiences of finding a healthy balance between running a business and being present for her family.
How she got started
When Sydney Crowe was first invited to learn about creating an empire, she was skeptical. But upon joining the Zoom call and learning more about their mission to empower a million women to be financially free, her interest was piqued. This marked the beginning of her journey into self-development and financial coaching – one that has been incredibly rewarding for both herself and those around her.
Sydney believes that these programs should be taught in schools so younger generations can learn how to manage their money from an early age. She wishes she had been introduced to them when she was 15 or 16 – just imagine how much further along she would have been! With this mission in mind, Sydney is now dedicated to helping spread knowledge on financial literacy so others can reach their goals and set themselves up for success.
Sydney's tips for mompreneurs
Time Blocking
Being a mother and an entrepreneur is no easy feat. In order to find harmony between the two, it’s important to make sure you have a plan in place. Time blocking is essential for organizing your day-to-day tasks and goals, making sure that Zoom links are attached to meetings so you don’t waste time searching for them. Additionally, having a vision of what your goals are for the week, month and year will help keep you on track as well. By following these tips, you can achieve harmony between being a mom and running your business!
Self care
Sydney was no stranger to checking all the boxes. She had followed the typical path of going to school, getting a house, getting married and having children. On the outside, it looked like she had achieved success; however, on the inside, it still felt like something was missing that kept her constantly living in Groundhog Day. This feeling led her to seek out self-care as an answer to this problem.
What Sydney discovered is that in order for self-care to be effective, she needed to take time out from people pleasing and focus solely on herself and what her needs were. In order to achieve this, Sydney started blocking out specific times in her day where she could give her undivided attention towards herself. While many thought of self-care as simply indulging or pampering oneself with luxuries or activities that make one feel relaxed; Sydney recognized it as a form of mindfulness practice which allowed her to become more aware and get in touch with what truly made her happy. With this newfound understanding of self-care, Sydney is now able to create a life filled with joy and satisfaction which allows her to live out each day with purpose and intention.
Advice for the new mompreneur
Advice for the new mompreneur
Sydney’s advice to the many mothers out there looking to develop themselves is to seek a mentor-mentee relationship. Crowe believes that community is the new currency, and encourages moms to find a supportive environment that calls to them.
She knows this first hand as it was her own experience of attending a Zoom call which provided her with the opportunity to be exposed to female empowerment and motivation. This positive energy resonated within her soul and opened up the possibility of growth and self-development in ways she hadn’t experienced before. It was here where she found an environment which allowed her to build herself up rather than the competitive nature that she had previously encountered from other female communities.
Sydney urges mothers to explore different sources of support, reach out for help, and dive into the communities which best align with their goals or speak to them on an emotional level. She believes that by doing so, women can gain insight into what they truly want from life and learn how best to propel themselves forward. With consistent effort and dedication, each mother will have access to all the tools necessary for growth and success.
